A note from Beth Lytle, the maker of Apollo's Apothecary Oil:

My interest in homeopathic medicine began nearly 20 years ago. I was already interested in self-sustainable homes, solar energy, wind energy, alternative medicine and anything along those lines. I left my job at a local police department to work from home. At first, it was transcription, but later, I researched and wrote paid articles. Alternative health was my favorite topic and it had me researching herbal medicine, smoking cessation, dental health, women's health, and pretty much every health topic you can think of. I'm a fast researcher and with a typing speed of 120 WPM, I was cranking out hundreds of articles a month on my own. I made good money, but I was also LEARNING.

I can no longer remember why I first started the process of creating my pain oil. I know it wasn't for myself. Generally, when I do something like this, it is to help others. All I can tell you is that I started a very early process similar to the process I use today, although today's process is faster and more precise. At that time, I owned a small house in the neighborhood I had grown up in.

 

I grew up near Madison, WI. Many people struggled in that area and didn't have insurance. I sold containers of my oil to those who needed it, along with mouthwash for those experiencing tooth pain (when they couldn't afford to go to the dentist) and other things I made in my kitchen. My products helped people. I'll never forget my retired neighbor coming out of her house and yelling my name across the street to get my attention. When I looked, she had the biggest smile on her face. She pulled up her skirt a little bit so that I could see she no longer had to use her knee brace.

"See, no brace!" She yelled across the street. It felt good to know that my oil was helping her knee.

Years would go by and I would move out of that house and use it as a rental. I'd live all over the world and eventually, I'd end up in Cottage Grove, OR. Before I moved to Cottage Grove, I'd been living in Drain, OR. That's when I met Jon. Jon had a lot of health problems and the pain oil seemed like it would help. He also suffered from plaque psoriasis. I made Jon special treatment for it all (lotion, shampoo, body soap and scalp treatment). Those products will eventually be available. Right now, they are in the testing phase. Unfortunately, I put my work on those products on hold when Jon passed away in April 2022.

Before that, I gave out my pain oil to many local people to try it during the testing phase. That's part of what I do when I am making sure that I have my recipes where I want them to be. I like the feedback and I also like to help people. I received so much positive feedback that I decided to move forward with putting the product on the market and that is how Apollo's Apothecary Oil came to be. There will be more products in the future.

My biggest hope for my products is that it is helping people and if it my products have helped you in some way (or if there is a way I can improve them, please reach out to me and let me know!
